Ruitoque is a long windward mesa overlooking Bucaramanga with 2 launches that are top landing sites as well. A large main LZ serves both sites below, with several alternative bailout landing areas.

It is an excellent training site, featuring early morning and late afternoon sled rides for the novice pilot, mid morning thermic and XC flights, and afternoon dynamic ridge lift that transforms into glass-off conditions into sunset. Incredibly consistent conditions where you can practice kiting, top landing, and playing all day every day.

Flying Sites:

(North side of Ruitoque)
On a weekday you may have this epic site to yourself. On the weekends, get ready for empanadas and refreshments on launch with lots of spectators and tandem rides. Lay out on the giant grassy launch and ridge/thermal up with the birds showing the way.
 

(South side of Ruitoque)
This area of Mesa de los Santos has a long steep grade launch ending with a 2,000 ft vertical drop. Morning thermals take you to cloudbase opening up the possibility of crossing the canyon to the Chiflas (south) side.

Give yourself plenty of altitude to reach this LZ. It is known for its sink on low approaches. The hikes out are cross country conditions. Other obstacles include cows, horses, and RC aircraft. The runway is for the RC pilots so yield to them and head for the spot marked with the paraglider.
